During an appearance on CNN, Cardona said that the Trump rally was “jaw-dropping” and that ridicule of Puerto Rico as an island of “garbage” was particularly offensive.
“It was not just deeply offensive and incredibly insulting,” she said. "As a strategist I thought it was so, so stupid. I mean, they are not just insulting Puerto Ricans on the island. They are insulting Latinos in general and Puertorriqueños that live in battleground states.
