Around half a year back big Nate had been struggling badly, but ever since the addition of Daphne it’s gotten much betterNot just because of what Daphne contributes, the jokes have gotten more funny as well

I really like Daphne. She reminds me of a lady friend of mine with that same name. She’s always very supportive, but I wouldn’t miss the opportunity for a hug like Nate did in the first panel.

Strip rating: 9/10 This was a pretty satisfying arc.

Daphne’s positivity can only take his negatively so far.

Today wasn’t a good day for me. For starters, I got in trouble by my maths teacher for saying “I hope you don’t get some cake” to a kid, when the mentioned kid bullied me since the first day of high school, but that’s not all, THEN thanks to my whingy classmate, we did cycling instead of swimming which I wanted to do & already had my kit. BUT we’re not finished yet, later during maths, my maths teacher rudely said “Put it away Ben” to put a paper in my bag for my mum to see, so rude! But tomorrow will be a good weekend for me.

Aw, Daphne in Panel 1 almost looks like she wants to give Nate a big hug! How adorable!

I love how Daphne focuses on the positive with Nate, something Nate acts like he can do but fails to truly convince himself of. I always remember what Novel #2 said about Gina: how Francis believes Gina brags and talks about herself all the time bc deep down she doesn’t really like herself. I feel that applies to Nate somewhat as well. He talks himself up, acts like he has this huge ego- but stripping him down to the core, he has low esteem under it all. But here’s Daphne, doing her best to build him up and show him how great he truly is and can be! Nate doesn’t have many positive people in his life that praise him where they can and should, focusing on the good he really does have, so I think Daphne is a wonderful addition to Nate’s life- and the strip!

Plus, her mittens are so cute- and panel 4’s punchline made me laugh out loud! Poor nun XD Even positive Daphne can’t sugarcoat that! Lol!

Just when you thought Nate couldn’t mess up any crazier…

Team sports are supposed to be about how the team performed and the team won. Focus on that. That and not hitting any more nuns in the face with a basketball.

I like how Nate is starting to get more level headed. He made many mistakes focusing on Daphne instead of the game but as soon as he gets comfortable maybe he’ll make some improvements.

I hope things continue to go well for those two. It would be fantastic if those two grew up to end up as husband and wife (I think Daphne is the only one capable of keeping Nate real).
