Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
I received a defective CD from TurboTax and was unable to use it; that put me online to download fed and state software. All the new security measures made it slower than normal, but can now get extension done! And …
The splint is off; however, I will still have to live as if it is on plus watch for swelling or pain and if that comes up, I need to get hold of my doctor immediately; the other thing is when I leave my house, I will have to have shoes on my feet; no more flip-flops outside!
Reminds me of a cartoon that my mother kept on her wall at her barber shop: An IRS agent is sitting at a large desk with a client in a chair in front of him. Through the large picture window behind the agent, an atomic bomb has just exploded: The agent says to the man, “Yes, you still have to pay your taxes.”
My taxes help employ a whole army of people at both the federal and provincial governments – way more than should be needed. It is a lose-lose situation. Save money by eliminating all those jobs but that costs money to pay their unemployment benefits. Both levels of governments have had hiring freezes in the past – but still hired to fill ‘necessary’ positions during the freeze. Cannot trust politicians or senior government bureaucrats. (end of today’s rant)
karlykry – glad to hear the splint is off. Take care walking so you don’t cause any more damage – or pain.
The current wind is from the north – which is blowing the ice away from our shore – so hopefully it will blow the rain all the way to Mexico City.

I want my taxes to help people in need.
They’re helping people who can’t afford health care.
No, I don’t want to help those people.
Your taxes are helping people in third-world countries.
No, I don’t want to help those people either.
They’re helping billionaires stay rich.
Yes. That’s what I want my taxes to do.

No wet stuff fell here today in spite of the forecast of a 35% chance of rain. Phooey! It’s time to arrange some burnt offerings for Tlaloc, I think.
