Another rough and time-consuming 1930 Sunday page leaves us with a 3-part update for the 25th – Shady Lane addresses his new clients as he takes over the local agency, Brenda and the Gang celebrate their Thanksgiving, while Rufus is faithful to his oath, but starts hearing voices.
Joel and Rufus couldn’t pour urine out of a boot with the instructions written on the heel (especially since Joel’s illiterate.) There’s no task they can’t find a way to mess up; none whatsoever. Come to think of it: does Rufus even have a drivers license?
The point is, trusting these two imbeciles for anything is a mistake, and Slim just comes off as an idiot for expecting anything else. It’s like kicking an angry rattlesnake and being surprised that it attacks you.
This is the second time a character (a different character) has used a word incorrectly as part of the punchline but not AS the punchline. Vehement doesn’t mean mad. Furious, for example, does. Incensed does. Irate does. Good old fashioned angry does. Does he work with an editor?

Vehement means ardent or impassioned, not mad. It can be paired with terms meaning anger but does not mean anger on it’s own.

You got in there willingly and handed Rufus the keys, Slim. This one is on you.
