Nancy: Sluggo---Will you lend me a quarter? Sluggo: Sure. I keep my piggy bank in this closet. I forgot about my burglar alarm.
Shouldn’t the burglar alarm know who is opening the door?
Burglars would be taller than Sluggo, so I guess that “alarm” would deliver a punch to the gut. Or maybe a couple of feet lower? ;-)
A true sucker punch.
A big dog was usually the burglar alarm back then.
Piggy the safest bank these days eh.
He forgot about it because of all of the concussions he suffered from being punched by it previously.
The combination is left jab – right hook.
Bushmiller’s drawing of Sluggo’s hovering hat with the three stars, Sluggo, also airborne (like the hat) and the mechanical punching glove in panel #3 is a very impressive drawing!
The perils of combining lack of trust and a poor memory.
