Boy: I have to go home now---My folks are having open-house today. Sluggo: That's nothin'. I've got open house all the time.
A while back, a poster stated that, in the Guy Gilchrist strips, Aunt Fritzi married Phil, and they and Nancy welcomed Sluggo into their home. Wish that could have happened here in Ernie’s strips.
Sluggo is poor!
Sluggo so poor he gotta steals foods to lives.
Poor Sluggo!
I appreciate when Ernie portrays the existence of the class division. Even if it’s more sad than funny.
That’s a dapper dandy!
And really tough in the cold. Of course in the summer flies love his abode.
The portrayal of cold blasts of fierce weather in Sluggo’s home in panel #3 are, in my opinion, some epic artistry on Bushmiller’s part.
