Being Jewish, I celebrate Chanukah rather than Christmas. We receive gifts on one of the eight nights (usually Night Seven), and I never tried what Nancy is described here as having done. I liked to be genuinely surprised. To me, it’s part of the magic. I did the same for my birthdays, as well.
