Follow the lead of Rob Liefeld* and have a lot of high shelves, low cloud cover, birds happening past, that sort of thing.
*that’s not very fair to him.
Whatever you draw is great, Amanda…it’s cartoon land. ☺️
Don’t think I’ve ever drawn one, but I can see how it could be hard to do. Subtle shape.
That…looks a little like a Pilgrim’s hat, you know, in honor of Thanksgiving.
I’ve always heard hands are the hardest things to draw. I’ve found that’s not the case with my stick figures.
Thank God we’re not cartooning the 50s!
The pilgrims hat is ….see…a happy accident. Or as we know, a blessing in disguise. Happy Thanksgiving
Other artists have used a photo of an object or of scenery as a substitute for a drawing, in the picture
An elegant solution would be a top hat.
I have a print of da Vinci’s “Woman with Ferret” hanging in the wall to my left. The woman’s hand is absolutely terrible. I love the painting anyway.
Don’t discount gettin’ crazy!
Trace a few photos and illustrations to get it under your fingers. Then bend it towards ‘you’.
Instead of thinking of it as a hat, imagine it’s something else which you can draw. A newsboy cap kinda looks like a beanbag, or a sleeping cat. And we all know you can draw sleeping kitties! ☺️
Do what I did and get a tracing light board.
Put a big old Pilgrim hat on that dome. Problem solved!
