No commute! No time lost to travel, or expense for gas! No Aunt Mildred, and her highly detailed stories about having Spastic Colon Syndrome! So much winning here!
I don’t mind family gatherings so much (most of my clan is rational, most of the time) but at 64 years old I’m tired of the driving. Looking forward to Thanksgiving this year at our daughter’s house — she lives 20 minutes from us. Beats the annual 300+ mile drive we did for the past several years, on the worst driving day of the year!
As for the illustration here, I’m no longer especially fond of what we called “TV Dinners” back in the day (though there are many brands of frozen products I do like). If my wife and I were staying home by ourselves, I can imagine that we might want to whip up a few special dishes, but nothing too elaborate.
I’d just like to know how on earth he’s reading a book, while the TV is on (she’s obviously watching it). I’ll read the comics while my husband’s watching sports games that I have little to no interest in, but… reading a book??

TV or not TV, that’s the question.

My husband and I have grilled turkey breast and salad. Just the two of us. It’s great!
