Yes, Noah and Moses. Caption says, the Condensed Bible. Like a mash-up. Should work out, Moses can part the flood, and Noah can take the tablets (there’s 2 of them) on the ark.
Bob Wells,
Jonah or Noah both work for the trick question. But the cartoon doesn’t have Jonah in it. But Wiley could help out crunkbot by adding a whale! There are a lot of other “water” images that could be added from the Bible, but this is “Non Sequitur,” not a theology forum.
Hey, GP…I don’t normally comment on cartoons…too many thin-skinned folks out there. God forbid we would bring up His name…or His word. I made a comment on a comment, and got jumped on.
Good info Joe Allen. But have you ever noticed that the two ‘greatest commandments’ sum up the decalogue? The first four deal with God (yeah, I said it) and the last six deal with our ‘neighbors’.
MsTXKitty, depends on how you define humor (or if one can in the first place). I for one LIKE this one. For me, Wiley always hits his mark; but some days are better than others. ps And how do you spell the “sawing” sound?: “sawing sound”, ding, “WHAT?!?!?!?!?

Funny how much water gets involved in the Exodus story. The moral must be to not wish too hard for what you want …

An old trick question in Sunday School was, “How many of each animal did Noah take on the Ark?”
kbielefe about 15 years ago
I think the problem was no one praying for it to STOP raining.

How long can you tread water?

OK, now I’ve got to go dig out my old Cosby albums…..
wxman927 about 15 years ago
dsmo8, wasn’t the “trick question”, “how many of each animal did Jonah take on the ark?” Maybe I missed that class….or your point.

I like this toon. All it needs is for bad-luck-magnet JOB to float by on a raft.
WinnieNicklaus about 15 years ago
dsom8, so what’s the answer?
Varnes about 15 years ago
Yeah, man, did JOB get screwed or what?
dsom8 about 15 years ago
A big OOPS! for me, Winnie. It appears I fell for my own trick quiestion.
The question is supposed to be “how many did Moses (or Jonah) take?”
And the hoped-for answer is “2,” which earns the reply “Wrong! Moses (or Jonah) didn’t build the ark, Noah did!”
Better I should go back to work!

Sad that people can not just enjoy humor for the sake of humor.
This is a cartoon and not meant to be a commentary on bible stories. Some of you need to get a life - and a laugh.

But then there are three others ahead of me, so, yeah..

DGooseE: A cubit is 19-20 inches (more or less)
DGooseE about 15 years ago
Thanks invisifan, I should have said “whatsa cubit?” I was referencing one of the lines from Cosby’s story of Noah.

One cubit equals two henways.

My 33 1/3 album has disappeared into the mists of time, but I have ol’ Bill on CD now. Still just as funny as it was all those years ago.

micheal moore, all right I will bite. What’s a henway?
Ushindi about 15 years ago
wndrwrthg: That joke is almost as old as I am - “What’s a henway? About 3 or 4 pounds”. (hen “weigh”)
