My dad plays piano. Not professionally; just for fun. He rarely had time to practice until late in the evening, so I remember listening to him play while falling asleep.
Sunday afternoons my father would be in the den watching sports. The dogs and I would be in my parents bedroom listening to my mom play the piano. One of my best memories.
Thanks everybody for the nice comments! I drew these comics during what would turn out to be my last visit with my mom before she passed away, so this comic is extra special to me now.
When we were little, my parents would put 3 LPs on the stereo. The first two were always different, and the last record was Leroy Anderson recording of the Waltzing Cat. None of us ever heard the last piece on that record. When I was in my 20s and visiting parents, my youngest brudder and I were horsing around in the living room. Mom put the record on, and we both fell asleep! Before the last song.

Mom played the piano, dad played the guitar.
I play the piano and I made up songs about my kids to sing to them.
My daughter is now playing… the music continues.

Beautiful! My dad was a writer, so his hunt-and-peck typing was my lullaby.
