I thought it was horse ovaries.
My Dad used to call them that.
Prairie oysters are available in sheep, horse, or bull.

I think it’s French for, Here, fillup onthese.
I read the word BOUGH years before I heard it pronounced.
A coworker called them “horse’s ovaries.”

i’ve always thought that the doovers were the best part of a horse…
Last time I heard that particular mispronunciation, Ralph Kramden was unwittingly feeding dog food to his boss.
