Agnes is a saint, albeit a misguided and ignorant one. After all, she herself has never received affection and praise from Granny Picklepuss!

AH, she is going to use some lard. That will make them nice and crispy. My wife makes the best cookies with lard, oatmeal and currants (and other “secret” ingredients).
