Maybe Arlo had too many of Lily’s rum balls and cranberry sauce.

I actually looked at an old Christmas tree pic the other day. Of course mine are on my iPad, and I was looking for something else, but it was nice to see it and think wow, we used to have a lot more energy for this sort of thing, didn’t we.

A collection of Xmas tree photos can bring bake warm memories.

A collection of meals you’ve eaten – meh.

I believe people who post pics like that so people they barely know can pretend they are keeping contact with all of those people who ‘friend’ them. I guess they substitute that for having real relationships.

I don’t take pictures for anyone else to see… they are for ME…and I am the only one that has to “like” anything I take pictures of!! And I DO make paper copies of them all… I read someplace that 30% of all the pictures taken and saved on computers or sent to the “cloud” or facebook are LOST!!

I post photos like this to Facebook stories that disappear after 24 hours. I think of most of my photos and drawings are ephemeral. They are meant to bring a smile and then be gone.

I did a bangup job this year outside. I went out with the movie camera to get pictures but the lights flare and blur. I went back in and found firework setting. I’m going to try again tonight! I might go out at dusk as there will be some light and that may help.

Not being on social media I miss out on all the tree photos and all the “special” lunch photos. Oh well, I’ll get by.

My wife has long been an amateur photographer. We have three large boxes of pictures, slides (!), negatives, CDs, and empty albums, that we’ve toted around for decades and a couple of dozen moves. They came in handy last month when a relative died and everyone was searching for old pictures for a slideshow at the memorial.

Thankfully, she’s switched to digital, so there are no new boxes. And she has her own laptop to store them on (now up to 1T), and still asks me to transfer pics from her phone when it gets full.

Easier to find them in a scrapbook than on FB after a few days/weeks…
