Did a New Year’s Day 5K years ago. It was like -12°. I had so many layers on at the start I had to be taking stuff off by the end.
It was along one of the Great Lakes and some of the runners were going into the water at the end. I certainly wasn’t planning on going into the water, and it looked like several runners who had planned on getting wet changed their minds. Should I say they chickened out or say they wised up?

In all the years I waited out in the snow waiting for the bus I never got over-heated. Never really got warm. Guess I was a cold blooded kid.

Put some snow on the back of your neck; that’ll make you forget the heat.

C’mon Heart – Philly doesn’t get that cold! Put on a pair of long johns under your regular winter outfit and you’ll be fine.
