Reminds me of a Simpson’s producer commentary in which Matt Groening made the joke that he liked the term “homage” because it sounded better than calling their reference to something a ripoff.
The little snow boy holding the round mound of snow on the ground from the snowman’s middle looks like Calvin!!! It is definitely something he would do to the snowman!
The only thing I’m having an issue with understanding is the wording — “This way it’s an homage, not a ripoff.” — WHAT makes it an homage and not a ripoff?? It totally seems an homage.
The fact that both Calvin and Hobbes are represented so it is clearly an homage to them. If they were regular snowmen, then the idea has been ripped off.
