NATIONAL COTTON CANDY DAY. I might buy some cotton candy today. If we have any left at my Walmart
NATIONAL ILLINOIS DAY
It is also the first day of our Walmart “voucher” shopping. That is where we are rewarded for working Black Friday with a special voucher. We normally get a 10% discount with our Walmart cards, but this one time use voucher gives us an additional 15% of on one entire transaction. I always use it to stock up on cat food, cat litter and paper and cleaning products. And I usually buy one big expensive thing, too. Last year, it was a chest freezer (no, not a freezer to freeze my chest – just a small freezer for frozen foods). The year before that, it was a laptop. Another year, it was a rug shampooer. Well, I’m not buying anything big this year. Just a bunch of cat food and cat litter, my paper and cleaning products and assorted groceries and other stuff. I’ve had years where before I use the voucher, my bill totaled around $900 before using my discount card and 15% off voucher. This year, it wont be nearly that much. But I checked and we were well stocked on the cat litter I use and fairly well stocked on the cat food I buy too. So, the first thing in the morning, I am heading to Walmart to use my voucher shop my brains out. They used to give us only 2 days t o use our voucher, but now it’s good for 2 weeks. My shopping list is all made out and I’m ready to go!
Just when I thought I had seen it all at Walmart, I saw something yesterday that absolutely floored me. There was a girl at the self checkouts (I couldn’t tell how old she was because she had her back to me, but I guessed she was in her late teens) who was wearing a shirt and panties, but aside from her shoes and socks, she had nothing else on! I did a double take – was she really standing there in her panties? Were my eyes deceiving me? Nope! She really was standing there in her panties. I guess I can be grateful it wasn’t a thong. Sorry – no proof. I didn’t take a picture, though I can’t say I wasn’t tempted to.
2 days ago, kitty, Sunny, got a claw stuck in the fluffy bottom below a hanging plant-just 2 yards away from my face. I watched in horror as she was about to take off dangling from it and possibly swinging from the plant. I quickly removed my laptop, and a cat, from my lap/legs and just then she pulled herself free. I knew then that a tree was not feasible this year, so I took my Charlie Brown glowing branch tree back to storage. S I G H
Will hang twinkle lights over the fireplace once again.
Extreme patience? More like extreme loudmouth! Poor Annie. I hope Santa does bring her some earplugs. On another note, saw two chickadees, three juncos, and three ravens while out walking today.

I have extreme patience, it’s just that everyone else is unbelievably exasperating.
