It is still nice to see when parents actually take the time to spend it with their child/ern. It helps send the message that you are loved and cared about.
That last panel reminds me of the Calvin and Hobbes strip where Calvin wants his dad to play with him, but he’s too busy with work. But in the end, Dad decides that time with Calvin is more important and plays with him…
One year, the district failed to call a snow day. As dutiful parents, we drove the kids in the snowstorm and cursed having to do it. Some small children waiting at a bus stop got frostbitten and the Superintendent got reamed with phone calls and bad press. The next day, everyone got off to make snow men in the sunshine. They never failed to call one again, even if there was just a bit of snow. Nothin beats the joy of hearing your school called on the TV. Until May when you have to make it up!

With everything that Lio has done, Dad still likes having him around the house?

I’m guessing Lio lives in upstate NY or Minnesota!

How warm does Dad keep the house (or how high is his metabolism) to wear shorts in the winter?

He really is such a good dad! . . . despite Lio being a unique boy.
