Petunia is just giving the nurses a taste of their own medicine.

You’re apologizing to the people who mistreated you so badly?? You’re a bigger Al I mean person than I am! I hope the coiling and the radioactive contrast doesn’t leave you with bad long lasting effects!

I’ve been saying for years that sick people can be pretty mean. It’s mostly excusable. For all those in healthcare, thank you for your kindness and patience. I’m so glad you’re recovering and able to tell us your tale.

You’re making a good point. There needs to be a class of pain medication aside from opiates (which would be problematic with a bowel obstruction I assume) that is effective when you’re in this kind of pain. Speaking out about it it’s important. Glad you’re on the other side.

I had a PET scan with contrast several years ago. It gives you a warm feeling like you’re peeing on yourself. That was fun! Medicine can be very bizarre!

I am as well. But I tell my caregivers that I am not mad at them, but at the illness that is cramping my life at the time. Surprisingly, they understand. It has helped me work with my own patients. It’s ok to be pi$$ed off at the thing causing your health problems. Especially something like this, whatever it is/was. Just don’t eat that gas station egg salad sandwich.

I don’t care if you’re a zen master, no one’s who’s been through it is going to ding on you for acting out under SERIOUS PAIN.
