Britain, France, and the US could have stopped Hitler in March 1938 when Nazi Germany marched into Austria. The democracies were given a second chance to stop Hitler when he marched into Czechoslovakia in March 1939. In either case, Germany was not ready for war and would have been stopped, but we did nothing. However, with Czechoslovakia subdued, Germany had access to a huge industrial base in which to power their war machine. Hitler said what he intended to do in his book, Mein Kampf. The world should have believed him. The rest, as they say, is history. If Putin isn’t stopped now, the future is bleak for Europe.
The reason for the Republican intransigence is due to one sick man. Under orders from the criminal trump, Republicans are doing everything they can to sabotage President Biden and weaken support for Ukraine. Zelenskyy is simply the first of undoubtedly many that trump intends to get retribution on. The proud party of Lincoln, Eisenhower, and Theodore Roosevelt is unidentifiable as long as trump and his maga black-shirts are in charge. Finally, trump has said he intends to be a dictator if he regains power, the US should believe him.
The republicans are asking the administration and democrats to include action on the southern border situation. Those on the left are not willing to lift even their pinky finger to jeopardize the growth of their voting base streaming in the USA from the south, (along with many other undesirables too). It’s time for the majority party to shut up & deal!
DearBraindead (an apt monicker) may I remind you that we are NOT A DEMOCRACY!! We are and have always been a REPUBLIC!!! Oh well, even our elected officials fail to make the discrimination between the two different forms of governance!! They are not synonyms equating one with the other. Democracy is governmental chaos. A federal government offers the possibility of adding order to chaos!
