I got some good news. Car repair called me. Germany finally realized that the track for my seat is discontinued so they are sending a used one. At a fraction of the price quoted. I’ve already paid half down so that money will pay for the part, installation AND there will be some left over. It’s on the way and I should get the car back the first week in zjanuary. I’ve been without a car for almost 3 months now. Thank goodness SIL takes me wherever and whenever I want. ( he owes me lol)
NATIONAL MUDD DAYMudd Day recognizes the birthday of Dr. Samuel Mudd, a man whose name was mud after his dealings with one man. After assassinating Lincoln on April 14, 1865, John Wilkes Booth rode with co-conspirator David Herold to Dr. Samuel Mudd’s home in the early hours of the 15th before crossing into Virginia. Mudd performed surgery on Booth’s fractured leg and allowed both men to stay the night. At some point, Mudd must have learned of the assassination. However, he did not report Booth’s visit to the authorities for another 24 hours. This delay appeared to link him to the crime, as did his various changes of the story under interrogation. On April 26th, authorities arrested Mudd. A military commission found him guilty of aiding and conspiring in a murder and sentenced Mudd to life imprisonment. He escaped the death penalty by a single vote. President Andrew Johnson pardoned Mudd, and he was released from prison in 1869. Despite repeated attempts by family members and others, Mudd’s conviction has never been overturned, nor has his record been expunged.
It’s official. We had to cancel the Christmas trip. Between my bronchitis and Brads’ cold, we were a mess. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Now we’re talking about Lake Tahoe in March.
I got a text from Dr Susan last night. I feel so bad for her; she still has the FIP kitten that’s being treated. (It used to be a death sentence but it’s treatable now. It’s VERY costly and hard on the kitten but she’s doing it) She still has the bottle baby. The litter of normal kittens and mama that were all doing so well and ready for spaying have come down with ringworm. The new adopters have been told and hopefully they will be patient and wait for them. Then she got a call from her brother in law in FL yesterday and her sister was in the hospital with bowel cancer. Please send good thoughts her way.
Watch it, Chesney, or you might get YOUR comeuppance. (E.g. the loading dock.) To be honest, I don’t know of many Christmas stories that involve revenge or comeuppance. For example, the Whos pretty much forgive the Grinch after he gives them back their presents. On another note, saw a varied thrush, two juncos, and a rabbit while out walking today.

But Annie didn’t make fun of anyone! It was “all of the other reindeer” who used to laugh and call Rudolph names, not Annie.
