My GPS stopped saying “Recalculating” many updates ago. I miss it since it would signal that I may have missed a turn or something. Otherwise I could keep going on making that mistake. If people don’t like the warning, maybe the programmers could make it a configurable option.

My GPS doesn’t say that but I sometimes take a different route and I have to put up with a lot of nagging as it tries to set back on its original planned route, for a couple km until it gives up in favor of a new route.

A friend was driving me to an appointment. His car’s GPS said to turn right. I very quickly said “NO! GO STRAIGHT!” because I knew the direction to go. I have no idea where we would have ended up.

Watch out for falling Boeing aircraft parts!
