I remember when I was a kid, when I lost a tooth I told my mom I was putting it under my pillow. She forgot about it. This went on for several nights; I had to keep reminding her of it. I can’t remember if I finally got my quarter or if I just gave up.
Ah, c’mon! The fantasies about the tooth fairy, Santa, etc., are part of what childhood should be. Love. Security. Reality comes all too soon for children these days.
To be fair, I think a lot of kids know deep down things like the tooth fairy don’t actually exist…but they enjoy playing along and pretending like it is anyway, so as long as the parents are still game to do it, so are they.
