With mom I can see the resemblance to Zonker. Physical as well as temperamental.

This is the first time I see Zonkers mum … until now only heard her voice on the phone

You can tell when you’re in a ritzy part of town when the car up on blocks next door is a BMW.

Now this one really dates itself. You can get a McMansion in a populated area for only one lousy million? What was the date on this?

In the UK, I knew a chap who put up an early satellite dish on the top of his house. It’s wasn’t very large or intrusive. Someone obviously complained because the local council wrote to tell him he didn’t have planning permission and would have to take it down.His response was to write in reply that if he couldn’t watch the TV he wanted, he would have to go back to his old hobby of amateur radio and would therefore be erecting a hundred-foot tall radio signal antenna instead. At the time (perhaps still today) such antennas were (by law) allowed in the UK and could not be blocked by local planning rules. Strangely, the council retracted their objection to his small satellite dish.

Today, that same McMansion would be priced at $17.85 million… unless the Harris’s are still hanging laundry.

Anyone notice that mom, dad and Zonker all have exactly the same profile? Makes me wonder if mom and dad are related by more than marriage.

I would NEVER purchase a home in a place with a homeowners’ association. For me, that is an absolute dealbreaker.

It seems like every new development gets an HOA slapped on. They are generally useless; collecting dues, imposing stupid rules and then fining you for breaking the rules; ignoring actual problems in the neighborhood in favor of measuring grass height and checking the exact shade of beige the mailbox is painted.

It is now illegal in California to have regulations against hanging clothes outside. I wonder if these strips had anything to do with it.

Lower property taxes too

We have a clothesline. The kind that has pulleys and goes to a tree. I am in charge of that. It’s a very manly task.

This really is a thing for real Homeowners Associations

And now I know who Zonker gets it from.
