Technically thinking is just talking to yourself in your head, so talking to yourself isn’t all that weird.

I talk to myself and I talk to my cats. Very occasionally, I interact with other people.

If she has trouble hearing her own speech, she needs more than hearing aids. A quick course in ASL might prove useful.

I can hear myself just fine when I talk to myself.
