You look at Democratic gatherings and there are people of all kinds in evidence, but Republican gatherings have only a few non-white people and they think they have to prominently post a guy with a t-shirt that says “Blacks for Trump.”
The irony is that the social conservative element of Republicanism would sell better to all minority people, who often are quite religious and so would be drawn in if the Republicans would make more of an effort not to sound like they’d like to expel all of “those people” from America.
The “Magic” of the GOP was getting voters to consistently vote against their own self-interests and blame it on the liberals because no one wants to look stupid, just vote stupid!
Showing up at the border is not a guarantee of immigrant status in any country, not just the USA. President Biden isn’t ripping kids out of their parents arms or lying to them about getting their children back in a timely manner. Some of those taken by Orange Traitor still haven’t been found, which makes me wonder about who is actually running a pedophile ring. Until those kids are found, I’m going to have to believe it’s the Repubs that are running a pedophile ring. Even many of the children that were returned, many were subjected to psychological abuse. Told, they would never see their parents again, and even that their parents didn’t even want to see them again. When one child I read about was returned to his mother he was afraid to be close to her, because of the lies told to him. He may seem better now, but we know those are scars that never fully heal.
As for immigrants, I certainly don’t recommend showing up in the middle of the winter in any country if you can help it. Unless you have family or friends to take you in while you get your work status and housing sorted out.
Frankly, the idea that people are surging to arrive here in case the Repubs take full control of the USA is equally ridiculous. I’d wait and see if the USA is going to be a stable place full of promise or a Republican heck hole, where your immigration status will be exploited to the max, destroying your American dream.
