Maybe not more than for food, but we have several microwave heating pads of different sizes and shapes. Some with the ceramic beads and a couple homemade ones with rice. Wife treats her’s with Lavender oil after being heated.
If your microwave gets used more for heating therapy pads than for cooking food, it just might mean you’re old and sore and know how to cook—which might just mean you’re not a Plugger.
Man, does this one hit home. I use them daily and with two microwaves in the house, one over the stove and one on the counter, one is dedicated to just warming up the therapy pads.
Microwave mostly used to heat water to boiling by husband. I don’t like microwaved food so I rarely cook with it.
We did not have until we moved to this house – about 10 years into being married – my sister gave it to us as a housewarming gift. No place to put it in small kitchen – called mfgr and that of our refrigerator to make sure okay – and it went on top of refrigerator. Husband eventually wore it out with crafts and boiling water and we actually bought a replacement one – this one is on the other side of the refrigerator top and still used only for boiling water and only by him – I can’t even reach it without a step stool.

I make mine with cow corn in a hand towel. Good for aches and foot warmer in bed!

I suppose it uses more energy, but I like to warm things up in the clothes dryer

If you have more kinds of reusable cooling pads than ice cube trays in your freezer …
