REALLY old TV. Came on at 4:30 PM. test pattern for a half hour. First up, Time for Beany, then Wagon Train. Then I had to go to bed. The news was on then, Bunch of programs I was not allowed to watch ( they weren’t “suitable”) and the News and sign-off at 10. Los Angeles 1940s.
Berlin had regular TV broadcasts beginning in 1928, Britain had them in 1939. When war was declared, the sets went dark; when the war ended, the BBC came back on, the announcer remarked, “Now, where were we?” and the program resumed where it had left off in 1939.
Maybe they can tune into a dinosaur movie. (Well, they did say it was an old TV.) I think it’s sad that some people can’t stand black and white movies. Thankfully, I’m not one of those people and enjoy watching classic films. (Especially comedies and monster movies.) On another note, saw a rabbit and three varied thrushes while out walking today.
RATS!!! It’s nearly 3:30 in the morning. I was waiting to see if the new strip would pop up before I go to bed, but I can’t wait any longer. I need to go to bed now.

Oh, it was an RCA with a 9" screen. No idea how much it cost, but my Mother was proud because it had a pretty cabinet, and a big screen.

That really is an old TV. They’re all flat screens these days. Those old TV’s were so heavy, I wonder how Annie got it in there?

At least they aren’t stuck with commercial interruptions every 6 minutes.

Poor Annie looks so confused in the last panel. She must have missed the first part of the conversation.

The Wright Brothers did what? We have to legislate controls before it gets out of hand.

I love old movies. 1930’s movies are the best. The kitties can come over and watch them with me any time.
