It’s not always easy commenting on this comic. I’ll admit to occasionally being stumped for several minutes, and then refreshing the page to see if someone else said something I can work with.
I worked with a guy who was highly intelligent. He would tell stories about situations he was in and the clever solutions he came up with to get around them. He would start every story with something like “I’m not a very smart man”. I would cut him off after his introductory sentence and say things like “I never noticed, but now that you say it, you’re right”

oh, poor Marigold, it can be hard to parse the difference between humble brag and fishing for compliments when one is not merely great but greatest.
