I’ve never seen my chiefs smile.

Never had a boss like that, but most of my life I worked for myself

I guess his real face can’t do that.

It would break!

It’s all to give you a sense of false security.

He has all the money and is miserable. Veeb is the true Born Loser.

So put on a happy face!

This one reminded me of that old Outer Limits episode called “The Hundred Days Of The Dragon”.

Don’t they realize that Rancid is masking his true feelings?

Why does this literally remind me of the old tune;

As is often the case, appearances are deceiving. Veeblefester is likely thinking up some devilment or other to accost our hero with.

The con man conning. Reminds me of Twilight Zone movie “The Masks” episode 145. originally aired on March 20, 1964 on CBS. In this episode, set on Mardi Gras, a dying man coerces his relatives into wearing grotesque masks that reflect their true personalities. At midnight all four removed their mask and their faces changed to reflect their greed and hate. Really true today of greed greed greed and me me me and not much caring and loving. World needs more Brutus and Uncle Teds.

I might have known .

I was going to reference “Put On A Happy Face” but dcdete beat me to it. And he gave the other lyrics, composer and lyricist, too. Showoff. Plus, I only had one egg, today, so I could only have half a quiche. And I’ve got to go to a dentist and mechanic, today. Full Monday.

It’s just a mask over his true feelings, Brutus. Don’t be fooled.

Uh oh. Now why would he do that? Veebs must be planning something particularly dastardly!

Must have been quite an artistic challenge to draw Rancid with a happy face Chip. Can’t say I’ve seen that before. Even Mother Gargoyle occasionally smiles when she thinks she’s zinged Brutus!

Might have known it was a facade.

I can’t believe he would make that much effort – or spend any money on the subterfuge.

Mission Impossible…

That’s the face Rancid likes to use when he fires an employee, nothing makes him happier.

Since he can’t get a smile on his face naturally, what choice does he really have?…..

I can’t think of why he would do this. Maybe it’s like kids when they get quiet? Something needs to be checked out right now!

Veebs is a bit grumpy because he only has three bags of money at his desk, but he doesn’t want to give the impression that isn’t the normal state of things.
