With AIs running things, there’s an opportunity for people to finally have the chance to live (carefully) without being tied to a job.

If society decides to do that.

Of course, panel four shows a much more probable future.

Ages ago, when early AI was represented by complex procedure files such as the one Digital used to fill orders for its systems, a researcher, fed up with nay-sayers (“that’s just a procedure file”) said with considerable heat “if a g*dd*mned horse could do what that procedure does you’d say the horse was intelligent!”

It was just announced that the Los Angeles Times, California’s largest newspaper, is laying off 110 people, or about a quarter of their news staff.

It’s important that billionaires be in control of the AI because we know billionaires are smart — look at all the tax breaks they get, that proves how smart they are.

Up next after the commercial, a news article about why billionaires need more tax breaks.

This should work well with the many people like Hammurabi.Wolfe, who lack any reading comprehension skills in the first place.
