I wonder if JK Rowlings’ husband is anything like Adam. I certainly hope not!

JKR’s husband is a specialist anesthesiologist (U.S., anaesthetist in British parlance). The definition of an anaesthetist (by many surgeons, overbearing and pompous mortal enemies of all operating theatre staff) is: “The person who is half asleep over the patient who is half awake.” But what would we do without them (anaesthetists)? Offer the patient a glass or three of whisk(e)y and a bullet to bite on? And tell the surgeon (=overpaid butcher) “For God’s sake, hurry up!” And stop overbooking the operating list!

It sounds like a formula for plagarism.
