Interesting, everything is in South America today.
Since the maned wolf is an endangered species, with less than 5,000 know to still exist in the wild, many zoos have started breeding programs with the idea of releasing the healthy offspring. Unlike most canine species the maned wolf tend to live in a monogamous mating pair rather than a pack.
With their primary diet being small rodents and insects these nocturnal predators are actually beneficial to farmers.
(sorry for the rambling post, we have a pair of these beautiful creatures at the Dallas (Texas) zoo, and I am fascinated by them)
IF they want to quickly repopulate their country with that almost extinct boa constrictor, just a let a few loose in the Florida Everglades. Come back in a year and collect the thousands of offspring and repatriate them.
This RBION strip takes on a Brazilian flavor, no doubt because of Carnival Rio De Janeiro preceeding this upcoming Tuesday. Expect to see New Orleans theme to follow closely with Mardi Gras , too!
Suppose someone crossed a Yorkshire terrier or chihuahua with a maned wolf? What would that look like, if it looked like the terrier or chihuahua but the legs of maned wolf? Sort of like a daddy long legs spider?

Must have been quite a job counting that many seeds.

There are other uses for seeds other than planting them. For instance, it takes about 8,435 sunflower seeds to make a liter of sunflower oil…
And about 1,375 olives are pressed in order to make 1 liter of olive oil..
Now I’m wondering about baby oilFreebyrd1 9 months ago
They didn’t say what the seeds were. I hope something native

It would be a lot less effort to just not de-forest a forest in the first place, rather than having to re-forest a de-forested forest.

I hope they quickly chopped up that boa.

The maned wolf’s not a wolf, the zoologists say,
Nor a fox with long legs (to my fleeting dismay).
It belongs to a genus entirely its own,
With the bush dog its closest live relative known,
Despite contrast in height: The maned wolf measures more
Than a yard, with a call that’s half bark and half roar.
South American grasslands explain why it’s tall.
Among canids, it eats the most veggies of all.
It especially digs a tomato-like berry,
Lobeira. But yes, the maned wolf is still scary
To numerous prey. It is not big on friends,
As it hunts without partners, the range it defends
Is quite large, and monogamous pairs hardly see
One another. One more thing to note is its pee,
Which not only is pungent but smells just like pot.
Now I’m liking this near-threatened critter a lot.

I like the stunt with the skydiving seeding, it draws attention to the need to replant forests and it might even get one started.
