Our education system has been devoid of parenting classes to help people learn and understand the responsibilities of raising children. And unfortunately, for too many their only examples are of what not to do (and therefore not where the middle ground might be), while having no idea that taking it to the other extreme can be equally detrimental.
I’m all for personal responsibility. People tend to respect that more.
I like what Jeff Foxworthy once said: “Just once, I’d like to see some kid go on ‘Dr. Phil’ and say, ‘You know, my mama was great, my daddy was great — I’m just a [poop]head’.”
Too many things are attributed to “bad parenting.” Just because someone ends up with a record as a child-molester, criminal, etc., is NOT indicative of bad parenting. Sometimes, yes, but, also, sometimes, somewhere, along that path to adult age, that person made their own decisions to veer from the route their parents tried to lead them down.

One of my 3 definitely is in the right (not correct) lane. Every stupid thing he does is my fault or so he thinks.

There’s a lot of bad parenting around these days…but Harley is not to blame for their misgivings! ☺️

Dr. Spock apologized for his ‘Spank a child and spoil a genius’ advice, but the damage was already done.

Even Harley has the good sense to take accountability for his life, even though his Mom isn’t the greatest parent….
