When I was attending college in Troy, New York, half a century ago, there was a local stand called Hot Dog Charlie’s that advertised hot dogs for 5¢. What the advertising didn’t say was that the hot dogs were 2 inches long, in miniature buns to match. The place is still in business, but I don’t know what the price of the hot dogs is now.
