That is exactly why I don’t do the bird feeders anymore. When I first moved out here I set 2 or 3 out and kept them filled. The squirrels took over. They were having parties here, and I suspect that they were inviting squirrels from other neighborhoods over! I looked out my window one morning and they were everywhere! I opened my front door and let my kitties out.
A co-worker liked to feed the squirrels – even had them eating out of his hand – then they moved into his attic – chewed on the electrical wires and shorted out the power – cost him a bundle to get it repaired – insurance would not cover it because he was breaking the law by feeding wildlife – he doesn’t feed them anymore.

One of the things seagulls do is drop shellfish from high up to break open their shells.
Ostensibly they drop them on rocks but I’ve gotten some dings on hood & roof of the car from them doing that.
