Or out of a prison cell.

The distilleries on Islay are definitely worth a visit – and there’s probably the best beach in Scotland on the island too. (Ok, that’s not a very high bar to beat … especially since I moved down under lol)

The functional definition of a Scottish pervert? A Scotsman who prefers women to whisky.

Spent a couple days in Edinburgh and got to see some country via tour bus. Would have loved to been able to stay there a few months and really explore. It’s Friday, and like Affie, I have a favorite nosh on Fridays also…..a short trip to the brewery in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada and I’m a happy man!

When Jesus Christ returns – Peace will. As Bible says, As in the days of Noah – so shall the end days be. So it only gets worse. If only a person would control themself rather than hate so much. Why do people ask for peace while hating so much? And who are they praying too? Seek peace while giving peace. Do your part. Remember they crucified Jesus Christ while praying to God. Yet Jesus was God. Go figure.

I visited Scotland a few years ago. I ended up throwing clothes out so my luggage, packed with Scotch and Cuban cigars wasn’t overweight. Worth it.

I remember visiting Scotland with my parents when I was seventeen in 1984. We stayed in Edinburgh but had days out to Kinghorn, Peterhead and the Trossachs. I remember seeing a postcard of two men looking at the stuffed head of a stag. “Did you shoot him in the Trossachs?” “No, right between the eyes.”

Well you could check the scenery when you’re there, probably wasn’t much to see coming back that late at night.

I always associate a “Lad’s Holiday” with pubs, nightclubs, alcohol and maybe sports. When I think of a “Girl’s Holiday” I associate it with shopping, spa treatments, going out for meals, sightseeing and sipping cocktails.

While in the Navy, our ship pulled into St. Thomas, V.I.. I went ashore to the Hard Rock Cafe there and proceeded to drink some rum and cokes with some friends. This was my last port visit before transferring to another duty station and they were buying the drinks. I really enjoyed the music but had a hard time talking. Afterwards, it went from fuzzy to blank. I woke up, back on the ship the next day nursing a killer hangover headache, not knowing how I got back and searching for my glasses. I asked them if I was wearing them when I got back and they said “yes”. I found them later. That was the last time I drank rum.
