Be careful that you don’t get sand in your turtle shell.

Hold on. I thought we were going to find out what the smell was in Hawthorne’s cave.

“There is no hidden camera! This is not a joke! I just want a zen garden so that I can meditate in peace!”

This guy would make a fine rock in a meditation garden.

A garden, no matter how zen, would not keep out the chatty Kathy’s who keep disrupting your “me” time unless it has a big wall and a lock on the door.

The beauties of nature (and, of course, the uglies, such as Hawthorne) are all around you, Fillmore. So just grab a rake and get going!

He’s pretty much standing in a Zen garden. Sell him an expensive meditation rake.

It took several years and consulting with Japanese gardeners in San Francisco and Vancouver as well as all kinds of literature and video, but we have a pretty good start to one. As Eddi-TBH said above, it is a permanent work in progress. That is part of the zen of it all.
