This guy would make a fine rock in a meditation garden.

A garden, no matter how zen, would not keep out the chatty Kathy’s who keep disrupting your “me” time unless it has a big wall and a lock on the door.

The beauties of nature (and, of course, the uglies, such as Hawthorne) are all around you, Fillmore. So just grab a rake and get going!

You’re better off growing tomatoes and stuff.

It took several years and consulting with Japanese gardeners in San Francisco and Vancouver as well as all kinds of literature and video, but we have a pretty good start to one. As Eddi-TBH said above, it is a permanent work in progress. That is part of the zen of it all.
