I love what David Gilmour said about one of his most famous riffs in the song, shine on you crazy diamond, which was written about the band member Sid Barrett, who he replaced. He said he was just playing random things, and it fell out of his guitar.

He has that glow of discovery.

Oil lamps in the wind doesn’t have the same ring to it. In fact, it doesn’t hold a candle to it….
