In honor of World Poetry day, my attempt at Haiku

Ah, World Poetry Day

It comes at the start of Spring

Time to mow the lawn.

He is not giving her any free verse.

Did Poe try?

Quick, Dave, a limerick! A clean one!

Dave is usually well versed.

The Dog, it ate my homework, you see…Therefore I have no return of assignment for thee!

This was an assignment I failed,

but I’m a minor and I can’t be jailed,

If you’ll wait,

I’ll do it late,

and keep my good grades assailed.

I’ll bet Dave saves Thyme in a bottle. (Sorry Jim)

Roses are red.

Bacon is red.

Poems are hard.

Bacon.

I can think of several bits of poetry, but that would be plagiarizing.

The dog ate it? LOL

Found this interesting: the Guinness Book recognizes a one-letter poem by Adam Saroyan that is an “m” with 4 legs as the world’s shortest … but wait, there’s more: poetrypop[dot]Com/2021/01/09/the-shortest-poem-in-history/
