This is so appalling and has tragically become standard in Swedish schools:‘Certain patterns can be discerned from the testimonies. One is that “talented”, quiet students, preferably girls, are used by the teachers to calm rowdy classmates. At least three terms – “buffer girl”, “cushion girl” and “shock absorber” – are used for the phenomenon. If the girls don’t get other skills at school, they at least learn that their function is to make messy boys feel better.’
According to the interwebs March 19 “really” is National Let’s Laugh Day and possibly International Let’s Laugh Day although the origins are lost in the dark mists of the 1970s. How is this not the subject of a line of Hallmark cards and why didn’t gocomics have a banner yesterday to celebrate? At least The Spud was in the house.

I wonder where she put Seagull? He was burping or chirping right along with them.

“Be quiet Caitlyn, and and stop putting gum into everyone’s hair. Here, get a little closer to Spud, and there’s some gum in the desk.”

I learned to play this on the piano (a more conventional instrument) when I was younger. To this day, when I hear it I think “E E F G G F E D…”

Wallace once thought she was a lizard person. He was worried about her staying warm.

That certainly would have had me laughing! Beethoven might be rolling over in his grave, though.

The proper dynamics for a robust, learning classroom seating chart involves complicated trigonometry. And often a bit of voo-doo.

Now if you practice Tuvan throat singing, you can belch out the William Tell Overture with just a hand full of mentos and some diet cola.
