I can’t describe blop, but I know it when I see it.

drove me nuts when another art teacher told students to take the labels off so that they could use all sides of the crayons. After that, the lighter colors all left streaks of the darker colors. I had to teach kids how to clean the ends off by coloring on a piece of scrap paper

Hmmmm, is Dill having an influence on Alice? This is usually his style.

This makes me think how wonderful it would be to have a set of Crayola’s all named after Cul de Sac characters and objects.

Reminds me of the public library that was renovating and moving the Children’s department to a big basement room (so that the noisy kids wouldn’t disturb the nattering of the regulars upstairs). They made a show of taking suggestions regarding the carpet. I suggested a soothing neutral like Oatmeal, Sandbox, or Teddy Bear. The Board went with a hideous jumble pattern of straight and curved lines with patches of dark color, straight out of an old man’s idea of a bachelor pad. If you dropped a paper clip, you needed a magnet to find it.
