The grandma rabbit must have a long patience. The gardener must wait at least two years before harvesting rhubarb. Three years to ideally establish. It is a LONG wait if Charley hasn’t planted it yet in the garden!.
And rabbits, please do eat the rhubarb leaves, that they are poisonous is just a rumor. Not.
The best way to grow rhubarb is to cut the bottom out of a plastic garbage can an put it over the rhubarb. The can causes the rhubarb to grow much longer, tenderer, and milder than if let grow in the open.
The first pie I ever made was rhubarb. It was for my sister and my father in 1966. I went to slide it on the breadboard (the old kind that pulled out of the counter) and it slid a few more inches right into the trash can! Never made one again.
I deal with the same thing as a seamstress. I have a large collection of fabric of a wide variety of prints and varying types, more patterns than I know what to do with yet people expect me to go and buy something they want, they are so demanding and fabric stores are going the way of the dinosaur.

Well done, Charley – there’s no sense getting into a big argument over rhubarb.

I’ve never grown rhubarb. I grew turnips for the roots once, but without much success.

I love how kind all the humans are to the animals. If only our pets could talk like them!

Cook it down, add some sugar and it’s not bad on toast.
