According to Wikipedia the Chaplin Studios closed in 1953, property has gone through several owners currently since 2000 owned by The Jim Henson Company.

Years ago I got a VIP visit (not the tourist one) to the Warner Bros backlot, including visiting their (huge) Wardrobe store. We were told that on Oscars night, while the women usually get new fancy designer dresses, many of the men will borrow or rent a suit from one of the studio Wardrobe departments. Some of those suits date back to the 1930s, but are lovingly kept for use in period productions. They have tens of thousands of outfits in storage. Honestly, the one at Warner was like a vast warehouse of clothes, all carefully indexed.

And all I ever have to complain about is the occasional street closure due to a marathon race.

Lizzy Gardner, the costume designer for PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT, wore a dress made out of American Express gold credit cards to the 1995 Oscars. I’ve never seen a more appropriate outfit on the winning candidate.

Who’s the guy in panel 8? I enlarged the star, but still can’t make out the name.

..there used to be miniature golf courses everywhere in Southern California when I was young, that was fun..
