In the 50s and 60s you couldn’t see a Western or an adventure series without somebody eventually stumbling into quicksand. It was an easy “special effect” that was mostly oatmeal and molasses in those black-and-white days. Real quicksand is extremely rare. You are more likely to get stuck in traffic.
