Son-in-law came home from the hospital this afternoon. He has a few small ulcers from taking so much Ibuprofren. And a stern talking to from my daughter about asking for help and not " toughing it out".
Oh, and I missed one yesterday. Yesterday was my cat Aprilâs birthday! She turned 15 yesterday. She is the sole survivor of a litter of 5. Oscar died from cancer in 2012, Tigger from an enlarged heart and fluid in his lungs in 2018 (I can hardly believe itâs been that long!), Felix died in 2022 and Uno died last year.
My golden retriever wasnât jealous. For most of our relationship, she didnât care if I was around other animals. One night, though, I came home from an arts board meeting at a memberâs house. I had apparently sat in the catâs chair. She began to poke me HARD with her nose. I apologized and explained I hadnât even seen the cat, and she finally forgave me. This is the same dog who later herded a starving cat to me and demanded I feed it. Thatâs how her best friend Mr Kitty entered our life.
If anyone was consorting with dogs, it would probably be Oliver. He gets along with everybody. Even stinkers like Chesney. (Thereâs nothing wrong with consorting with dogs, of course.) On another note, saw three juncos, a varied thrush, three robins, and a wren while out walking today.

Good for Annie. I consort with dogs all the time. Itâs better than the alternative.

How rude! That last part was really unnecessary.
