Forgive me, I am but a simple man and I need some help. November 28 began Chapter 4 âThe Misdirectâ. (Announced at the end of Nov. 27.) Now that Chapter 5 is beginning, I (painfully) flipped through all the strips between then and now and I was wondering if someone could answer some questions:
1. What was the misdirect? âTHEâ is a definite article, so what activity, event, etc constitutes âtheâ misdirect? Or did the writer [cough, cough] mean âthe misdirectâ as a concept that connects the numerous [eye roll] plot lines together? If the latter, then again, what activities, events, etc constitutes those misdirects?
2. In light of Question 1, why was âThe Misdirectâ even the title of the chapter anyway if the reason for the title isnât obvious?
3. Why does this comic strip even have chapters in the first place? There are natural breaks in the narrative flow, commonly called âhigh school sports seasonsâ. Why are these artificial chapters even being used?
4. Since July 2022, can anyone tell me how the Milford sports teams actually finished when the season was over? Since this is one of the points of the strip, (Henry, are you paying attention? Suggestion: Read that last part over and over until it sinks in.) it would be nice to know how the teams did. Or do I need to just assume they finished second in the Valley?
If Rod doesnât go pro, Iâm guessing he can at least earn a lot of NIL dough when he graduates. Then he can afford some sleeves. And speaking of affording, you canât afford to miss todayâs Mopped Up Thorp.
He thinks he is good enought to go pro, yet wants to go to college but canât afford it. There should be a dozen schools ready to give him a full ride.

College basketball season ends tonight. Time for some baseball, or more likely half a dozen spring sports at once.

So, I guess this âRod going proâ thing is really gonna happen. GT really is one of those slapstick comedy strips.

If Chapter 5 is true, this writer will never have to worry about being lonely. So heâs got that going for him.
