My grandfather who was a Spanish American War veteran and lived with us the last years of his life would remind us to “Remember The Maine” each year on the anniversary of it’s sinking. He was a bugler with the Tennessee Volunteers who were camped on the dock in Tampa ready to ship out when the war ended.
