The majority of books written are never published. See fanfiction and all the books that were rejected for publication. People write for fun. Telling her that her first book will be a huge success and her second novel will be a letdown makes as much sense as telling her, “The moon is made of clam chowder.”

If she enjoys writing let her write without giving her a stupid argument not to make the effort.

Gaylord really likes to make everybody miserable. I guess he feels jealous that everybody else’s life is more interesting than his own.

And now my encouraging words. The problem with that Auntie, is if your first work is a total failure, any subsequent works will probably not even be considered.
