I do feel for my boy, Paul, here. I wonder if the ol’ touch-o’-Jill will animate the lawn-mower. Either that, or it’ll start only after Paul throws out his back! That’s what I like about Buckles: A fun comic strip that always hits close to home.
I had battery mower and loved it until the batteries got weak and replacements cost more than a new mower. I went back to gas but got one with electric start, push the button and it’s ready to cut and no waiting hours for battery to recharge. The starter battery lasted all last summer without a recharge.

Is the gas tank full? Yesterday he had a wrench in hand, not good for someone not mechanically incline!

Paul would rather deal with a Game Boy instead of a Lawn-Boy.

You have to over-prime it, Paul……pump that little button bulb at least 15 times.

After I had the right shoulder reconstructed surgically, I had to get a battery operated mower. I couldn’t pull start the old one.

Jill, don’t ruin it for Paul when he hasn’t even actually done anything.
